About

SAENGER was founded in 2019 by Bernardo Saenger, Saenger Galería is a contemporary art space in the historic neighborhood of Tacubaya, Mexico City. The gallery promotes both emerging and established artists from Mexico and abroad, fostering an open, inclusive space that encourages dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas across the contemporary art community. With a 1,200 m² venue featuring a Main Room and Project Room, the gallery hosts diverse exhibitions, amongst which stand out, "Pedro Friedeberg. Simetrías y puntos de fuga - 70 años de creación" (2025); "Scent of Time" by Yoab Vera (2024); "This, That & the Other" by Scott Reeder (2023), and "El secreto del mundo" by Robert Janitz (2022). The gallery has also published, "Javier Peláez: High Performance", (2020) and "Robert Janitz at the Anahuacalli" (2023), amongst others. In addition to exhibitions, SAENGER Galería engages in institutional collaborations, publishes art books, and participates in international art fairs across the Americas, Asia, and Europe.

COHJU was established in February 2008 in a building designed by a prominent architect, Kisho Kurokawa, in a historical and cultural area, in front of the Kyoto Imperial Palace. First several years, the gallery mainly held exhibitions of mid-career Japanese artists such as Takesada Matsutani. As Kyoto’s art scene has flourished with young emerging artists since 2014, the gallery started focusing on promoting young artists based in the Kansai region. The gallery presents 4 to 5 exhibitions including group shows that feature outstanding artists who have just graduated as well as participates in 5 to 6 art fairs in Asia, Europe, and North America to showcase cutting-edge projects to the international art scenes. We aim to make progress with artists, and also keep discovering splendid talents.
