With over 40 years of history, Simões de Assis is one of the leading Latin America galleries for Modern and Contemporary art. Established in Curitiba, Brazil, in 1984, it is led by two generations of the founding family, operating across three venues — São Paulo, Curitiba, and Balneário Camboriú.
Simões de Assis represents a distinguished roster of 37 artists and estates, focusing especially on Brazilian, but also on Latin-American art in dialogue with global perspectives. The gallery is deeply committed to the internationalization of its program and artists, forging partnerships with leading galleries, institutions, and curators around the world. And in close collaboration with collectors and institutions, it aims at positioning its artists in major public and private collections, through the regular participation in the most relevant international art fairs – which reflects the gallery’s strategic vision and growing global presence.
As pioneers in fostering trans-generational dialogues, Simões de Assis manages established and emerging artists, building a program that is both historically grounded and forward-looking. As a multigenerational project, the gallery is a wide-reaching platform for cultural exchanges, shaping the legacy of Brazilian and Latin American art within a globalized and interconnected art system.
