Future Dictionary, Volume IV (Kale)

2018
18 x 12 in
1 of 10
archival inkjet print (books, plants, soil, and water)

Artwork Description

“A documentation image of a living sculpture. This is the first in a series we're calling 'Future Dictionary'. This is Volume II, a patch of mint and a stinging nettle plant growing in two old reference books, which we inherited from our family. The first 4 "volumes" in the series include a tree (cedar), healing herbs (mint & nettle), a plant known to purify the air (spider plant), and a hearty edible (kale). We plan to continue to tend and photograph the sculptures in the 'Future Dictionary' as they grow, hopefully one day eventually turning the pages to soil.”
