Artwork Description

This bookshelf reinterprets the structural logic of the Faculty of Architecture of Mendoza, designed by architect Enrico Tedeschi between 1962 and 1964, a key reference in the use of modular and repetitive systems to achieve balance and stability. The piece is composed of a system of wooden elements assembled without nails, screws, or adhesives. Each component forms part of a repeating module, where vertical and horizontal elements rely on one another to generate stability through geometry, order, and friction. The triangular beams receive and distribute the load of the horizontal shelves, while the shelves exert outward pressure that activates the entire system. The lateral lattice structures, built from members of varying lengths, act as structural façades that confine and stabilize the piece. The result is an assembly that can be read visually, assembled by hand, and supported by its own logic, making structural behavior explicit and understandable.
